# Freely

> Freely is the UK's free TV streaming platform, bringing live and on demand television together in one place via compatible smart TVs and streaming devices. Freely is operated by Everyone TV and backed by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5.

Freely works over an internet connection and does not require a dish or aerial, although compatible TVs can optionally use an aerial to add channels. A compatible Freely smart TV or dedicated streaming device is required; Freely is not available as a downloadable app for existing third-party streaming sticks or older smart TVs. A minimum broadband speed of 10Mbps is recommended for live streaming and on demand content. A TV Licence is required when watching live TV or BBC iPlayer.
