I’m missing aerial delivered channels when topping up on Freely

If you’ve chosen to top up your channels by connecting to an aerial and are missing aerial delivered content, you may need to check your aerial connection and rescan your device to make sure you are receiving all of the channels.

How to check your aerial connection

When checking your aerial connection, here's what to do.

  • Ensure that your TV is either near the aerial point in your room, or that you have an aerial lead long enough to reach the aerial point, and that there is no visible damage to the cable or connectors.
  • Check that your aerial lead is plugged securely into both the aerial socket on your TV and the socket on the wall if there is one.
  • The socket may be labelled RF in, Antenna, Aerial, or Ant in.

How to rescan your aerial-connected TV

Once you have checked your aerial connection, you will need to rescan your TV to make sure you are receiving and can watch all the channels.

Most TVs will ask you to rescan for channel updates whenever there are changes to the channel lineup. With most aerial-connected devices, you'll just have to press Rescan when asked. Simple!

If your TV doesn't ask you to do this automatically, you may need to manually start the rescan.

This process may vary slightly depending on the TV you have, but it usually involves these steps:

  • Press the Menu or Home Button on your remote.
  • Navigate to Settings or Setup.
  • Select Channel Settings or Auto Tuning.
  • Choose Auto Scan, Channel Scan, or Auto Program.
  • Wait for the scan to complete. Your channel list and guide will update automatically.

You can also check your manufacturer manual for instructions relating to your specific TV.
