It’s time to don the aprons and deck the baking tent with tinsel – The Great British Bake Off is back with its much-anticipated Christmas and New Year specials! Channel 4 has officially revealed the line-ups, and this year, the tent is welcoming some very familiar faces… the same people who survived nine seasons of Mark’s constant moral overthinking, Jez’s freeloading layabout-ism, and some truly spectacularly bad decision-making!
Christmas Special: Peep Show edition
For the first time since Peep Show wrapped in 2015, the beloved cast are back, and this time, they’re trading Croydon flats for the iconic Bake Off tent. Among the festive bakers are:
- David Mitchell (Mark)
- Olivia Colman (Sophie)
- Isy Suttie (Dobby)
- Matt King (Super Hans)
- Sophie Winkleman (Big Suze)
Under the watchful eyes of judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith – and hosted by Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond – expect everything from collapsing gingerbread to “I definitely didn’t mean to burn it” moments. There might even be challenges that pay homage to Peep Show, so don’t be surprised if a turkey-themed existential crisis appears in the tent.
Will their cakes rise to the occasion… or collapse spectacularly like Jez’s career choices? Either way, it promises to be chaotic, crumbly, and deliciously awkward – just the way Peep Show would want it.
