It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Location, Location, Location first graced our screens—and even harder to believe that Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer haven’t aged a day (seriously, what products do they use and where can we get some?)

Since 2000, the duo has been guiding hopeful home-hunters through the emotional rollercoaster of British property: tears in tiny kitchens, full blown debates over cupboard space, and the occasional fall-in-love-at-first-viewing moment that makes your heart do a little skip! They’ve navigated viewers through dodgy décor, dream renovations, and deals that come down to the wire—all while delivering hilarious one-liners and an amazing ability to talk the seller down!

To celebrate the silver anniversary of this wonderful show, we had the opportunity to ask Kirstie and Phil about their favourite locations!

An interview with Kirstie and Phil:

Thank you for the time to chat with us today, I just have a few questions. So where’s your favourite location to find houses?

Kirstie: I do like it when we’re in Scotland, some of the cleanest and lightest houses are there!

Phil: For me, anywhere within striking distance of Hampshire.

Where is the most desired area at the moment?

Kirstie: I think it totally changes dependent on the city you are in, you might be in Manchester where these is a specific desired area or in London. I was in a place called Gullen outside Edinburgh the other day, everyone was going crazy buying property there, so it’s not because they are particularly nationally desired areas, it’s just that it’s regional. It’s where you are basically, there will always be a highly desired area in the place you are in.

What do the next 25 years hold for the housing market?

Kirstie: There are two paths we could go down, one that will lead to all sorts of other social difficulties and danger, or we can recognise that we are on the edge of a precipice, and we can pull together all political parties and organisations.

Phil: We are never going to see the double-digit price growth that we’ve seen in the last 25 years because of affordability and [because there is more of] an appetite to buy your own home... [at the same time,] rental markets are worsening as more landlords exit.

Finally, where would your dream house be located?

Kirstie: I’m very lucky, I live in a street in London that I always wanted to. I have a home in Devon that I like very much so I think I’m very happy to have what I have!

Phil: My dream house location would be in Byron Bay, Australia.
